About the Role

The Senior Process Engineer will be a key team member at our New London manufacturing facility, driving production improvements through World Class Manufacturing concepts. This hands-on role involves process development, controls, layout, and ergonomic design. You will oversee all aspects of the process and equipment, collaborate with maintenance and extrusion experts, and lead continuous improvement efforts. This is a people-manager role with direct reports and dotted-line responsibility for technical team leads.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support the improvement of Health and Safety practices throughout the business.
  • Develop and implement robust advanced manufacturing processes and process improvements.
  • Create process documentation, including one-point lessons, visual aids, and work instructions.
  • Lead and execute data-driven process improvement projects focused on OEE and safety.
  • Apply engineering best practices across the site.
  • Collaborate with the NPD function to ensure customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements are met consistently.
  • Provide technical advice, fault-finding, resolution, and problem-solving for design, build, and usage issues.
  • Define rules for design, manufacture, and assembly to support new product launches.
  • Oversee prototype builds, including manufacture or assembly of components, systems, and sub-systems.
  • Produce, update, and maintain technical data, including reports, engineering change notifications, test procedures, and drawings.
  • Support cross-functional creation, update, review, and approval of process documentation such as FMEA and Control Plans.
  • Manage activities to support departmental deliverables, including 3D CAD models, BOMs, routings, and procurement of tooling/fixturing.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for industrial validation, ensuring consistent process application.
  • Train, develop, and mentor colleagues within your area of expertise.
  • Lead shift process technicians directly and provide technical guidance to technical team leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing and/or Process Engineering, machine build, and test environments.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Ability to lead and work in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of product launch processes and Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and demonstrated application.
  • Working experience in a technical product production environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD and ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerancing, including GD&T.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Twin screen profile extrusion experience.
  • Composite manufacturing experience.
  • Polyethylene (PE) experience.
  • Experience with PLC and/or DCS control systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification and Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Understanding of key maintenance indicators and preventive/predictive maintenance systems.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan or a role-based sales incentive plan.
