About the role
Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Holly Hill, SC to oversee and support plant discussions and investigations to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate/Participate in improvement of the Plant's technical capabilities.
- Initiate process optimization in collaboration with Quality, Production and Maintenance to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant's equipment.
- Elevate the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation.
- Continuously analyze equipment/system performance (e.g. specific electrical and thermal energy consumption, refractory consumption, Overall Equipment Efficiency), document findings and propose solutions for improvements.
- Develop standard operating procedures and targets. Train and coach operation personnel to apply them consistently.
- Provide technical support to the plant's production, quality, and environmental functions.
- Evaluate operations, processes, and trends through the use of audits and systematic approaches (OEE teams, RCA, TIS, HLC, etc).
- Monitor the performance and optimize the operation of High-Level Control Systems (HLC).
- Promote the increased use of AFR (Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials); provide comprehensive technical expertise to evaluate AFR with respect to their impact on the process; develop and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce impact of AFR on the process operation.
- Provide technical support on implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures.
- Conduct economic and operational feasibility studies on proposed modifications and/or additions.
- Commission and de-bottleneck new installations.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
- Drive Health and Safety according to the regional and plant priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a Production Engineer, Process Engineer, or in a related engineering position.
- 7 years: Conducting cement process engineering activities.
- 3 years: Conducting cement production field work.
- 3 years: Managing technology development and pilot projects.
- 3 years: Commissioning High Level Control system.
- 2 years: Using refractory materials in the cement industry.
- Up to 50% travel (primarily national/domestic, but some international).
