About the role

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst/Assembly Process Engineer to join its operations organization in Greenville, OH, where premium KitchenAid cooking products are manufactured. This onsite role focuses on driving operational excellence across the assembly value stream, particularly for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer lines. The engineer will optimize complex assembly sequences, leverage data analytics and Six Sigma methodologies to improve yield and ensure zero‑defect throughput, manage vision systems, poka‑yoke error‑proofing, and end‑of‑line functional testers, and act as a bridge between design and production to influence Design for Assembly and close process capability gaps. The position also provides strategic leadership and professional development for two direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient production processes and line balancing.
• Review product designs for ease and cost‑effectiveness of assembly (Design for Assembly).
• Investigate root causes of assembly defects and equipment downtime.
• Design or source necessary machinery, tools, and fixtures for the assembly line.
• Work in a team‑based continuous improvement environment to drive safety, cost, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Provide technical support for all shift operations as a resource champion.
• Maintain quality standards within the department.
• Lead World Class Manufacturing (WCM) teams delivering cost savings and OEE/AY improvements.
• Collaborate with shop floor work teams, leaders, and other departments to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Implement projects and special assignments as required.
• Ensure operations are ready to meet production requirements for the next shift.
• Apply strong data analytics to interpret results, identify trends, and patterns.
• Work flexible hours as required to support operations and project implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, CREO) and experience with PLC controls (e.g., Allen‑Bradley)
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and pFMEA
• Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and standard work documents
• Superior communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Proven problem‑solving skills (WCM tool knowledge)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Expertise in a manufacturing‑related environment with a good understanding of plant operations
• Solid decision‑making and judgment skills
• Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
• Ability to be self‑directed and self‑motivated
• PC proficiency in Google Suites
• Assembly process experience including fastening, automated cells, packaging, vision systems, and conveyance
