About the role
The Amazon Air (AIR) Process Engineer (PE) team drives process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement. This role manages the relationship between cost, speed, and service by developing innovative ideas that create value for customers. Process Engineers identify and solve process defects, deep dive data, apply engineering principles to develop processes and planning tools, and use project management skills to implement change. This position is based in Fort Worth, TX and requires in-office presence.
Responsibilities
- Develop labor standards through work measurement
- Create operational models and planning to support sort and ramp operations
- Manage projects from conception to completion
- Conduct and lead project meetings with Senior and Regional leaders
- Assess and optimize processes and equipment used in the facility
- Spearhead projects such as floor layout redesigns, ergonomic evaluations, and capacity planning studies
- Understand, articulate, and implement mechanisms that drive efficient processes
- Evaluate flight schedules to determine operational impacts
- Calculate ground support equipment (GSE) needs at regular intervals
- Plan and design systems that improve integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance
- Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
- Work a flexible schedule, shift, and work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Travel domestically up to 10% of the time
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Strong technical background in automated or non-automated material handling equipment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other operations engineering tools
- Experience in Logistics, Distribution, or Fulfillment processes
- Experience working under pressure in a cross-functional organization
- Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis or building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- Eligibility to pass security screening for unescorted access to airport security identification display areas (SIDA) as required by the FAA, DHS, and TSA
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires mandatory pre-employment and, where permitted, post-hire drug testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with financial and statistical modeling
- Experience in layout design

Pay
Base salary range: $119,600.00 - $161,700.00 USD annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
