About the role
The Judicial Department seeks an experienced Probation Officer to manage cases, conduct assessments, and facilitate long-term behavior change for clients ordered to receive services. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and reporting to the court.
Responsibilities
- Document client-related activities and review court orders.
- Conduct face-to-face appointments and interviews.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and develop case plans.
- Respond to critical incidents and potential risks.
- Provide sentencing options and victim rights information.
- Collaborate with outside agencies and participate in trainings.
- Manage and train less experienced officers.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, human services, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of work-related experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, social work, psychology, or related field; one (1) year must be as a Probation Officer for the Colorado Judicial Department.

- Recognized by others within the organization for technical depth of knowledge.

$64,332.96 - $97,747.80 annually.
