About the role

The Senior Print Designer will collaborate with the Design team to create original artwork for Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) Brands. The role requires a strong understanding of contemporary market trends, expertise in textile and color application, and proficiency in design software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process from concept to completion, aligning with the Director on priorities and artwork direction.
  • Shop and research the marketplace, including competitors, to find inspirations and opportunities in product, fabric, wash, and color.
  • Research, identify, and present print and color trend direction, and create design boards for each season.
  • Create artwork and prints for each season, ensuring consistency with market trends and business strategy.
  • Lead the conceptual development of the print story and seasonal direction, working closely with the design partner to maintain alignment with overall seasonal direction.
  • Develop staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, and establishing performance and development plans.
  • Oversee catering content for Corporate Fashion Team (CFT) members to meet their needs.
  • Seasonal travel for research and/or product development.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design/Textile/Print/Graphic Design
  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience
  • Skills: Strong design and conceptual skills, strong sense of textile and color application, extensive knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques, and fabric identification, ability to identify key trends and determine their relevance to the brand/consumer, proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, NED Graphics, Procreate, and/or Fresco.
  • Personality: Positive and passionate, strong problem-solving skills, collaborative environment, and the desire to build strong relationships with business partners and team members.
  • Other: Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to coach, manage, and develop skills of direct reports.
