The Senior Principal Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives by creating execution frameworks, managing complex dependencies, and ensuring successful delivery of customer-focused platform capabilities. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, systems thinking, and executive-level communication skills.
About the role
- Translate complex business strategies into scalable delivery plans, ensuring measurable outcomes and customer value.
- Lead complex technical programs spanning Product, Engineering, Platform, Architecture, UX, Data, Governance, and Operations teams.
- Establish program operating mechanisms including roadmap tracking, dependency management, executive reporting, risk mitigation, and release planning.
- Drive alignment across multiple products, platforms, and workflow areas to achieve shared business and customer goals.
- Partner with technical leaders to evaluate tradeoffs, technical dependencies, scalability considerations, and delivery sequencing.
- Create governance frameworks using metrics, readiness indicators, telemetry, and outcome-based measurements.
- Identify execution risks, delivery challenges, and organizational dependencies while leading mitigation strategies and escalation processes.
- Provide executive-level communication through clear reporting on progress, risks, confidence levels, decisions, and business impact.
- Leverage AI-enabled workflows, automation, and scalable operating models to improve delivery speed, transparency, and execution quality.
- Support the evolution of technical program management practices across complex enterprise initiatives.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale technical programs, with the ability to influence across teams, manage ambiguity, and connect technical execution with business outcomes.
- Proven experience managing complex initiatives involving multiple engineering teams, products, platforms, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong ability to transform strategy into actionable execution through planning, governance, dependency management, risk management, and measurable results.
- Advanced systems-thinking capabilities with the ability to connect architecture, technical delivery, customer experience, and business objectives.
- Experience partnering with Engineering and Architecture leaders on technical decisions, platform dependencies, and delivery priorities.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud platforms, enterprise applications, distributed systems, data platforms, workflow solutions, or AI-enabled products.
- Demonstrated success managing executive communications, decision frameworks, risk assessments, and outcome reporting.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment without relying on direct authority.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments while creating structure, clarity, and momentum.
- Experience delivering customer-facing products or platforms through launch, adoption, and operational readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with AI transformation, automation, workflow modernization, regulated software environments, platform modernization, or enterprise transformation programs.
- Familiarity with Agile, Lean, SAFe, or similar delivery methodologies is preferred.
- PMP, PgMP, cloud, AI, data, or related technical certifications are a plus.
Benefits
- Competitive base salary range of $191,500 - $249,000 USD.
