About the role

The Advanced Cores Group (ACG) at ADI is a world leader in developing high-speed data converters and related technology, known for breakthrough innovations like RF DACs, ADCs, and SerDes PHYs in cutting-edge FinFET processes. As a leader in this team, you will drive the design and development of state-of-the-art data converters from concept to production, shaping specifications, architecture, and execution while mentoring engineers and collaborating across global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect data converter solutions for diverse applications, focusing on multi-GHz sample rates and bandwidth.
  • Develop and implement calibration algorithms for digitally-assisted analog circuits.
  • Design challenging transistor-level circuits in CMOS.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers across multiple sites and teams.
  • Prepare design documents and conduct engaging design reviews.
  • Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams.
  • Mentor other design engineers.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
  • 20+ years of experience in CMOS design.
  • Proven expertise in high-speed data converter design (e.g., pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, current-steering DAC).
  • Deep understanding of time-interleaved data converters.
  • Experience designing wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, and LDOs.
  • Proficiency in Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Signal processing knowledge (especially for calibration algorithms) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in large teams.

Pay

The expected wage range for this position is $184,030 to $266,485, with actual offers varying based on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, and internal pay equity. This role qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

Schedule

Hybrid work model (1st shift/days), with home and in-office opportunities varying by job function and group.
