Senior Principal, Medical Strategist
About the role
Within our Envision 90TEN team (part of Envision Medical Communications), this is a high-visibility leadership opportunity for a Senior Principal, Medical Strategist with agency experience to lead commercial medical communications strategy across complex therapeutic areas and client portfolios. As Medical Strategy Director, you will shape insight-led strategy, guide high-impact deliverables, and partner closely with clients on brand, lifecycle, and launch planning. You will work at the intersection of science, strategy, and client partnership — influencing commercial decisions, advising cross-functional teams, and leading strategic initiatives that support both client success and business growth. This role is ideal for a strategic storyteller and client leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and driving measurable impact through medical communications. We're open to candidates applying from either the U.S. or Ontario, Canada.
How will you make an impact at Envision Pharma Group? Role responsibilities
- Serve as a senior strategic lead and subject matter expert across client programs and new business initiatives.
- Provide consultative medical strategy guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Partner with leadership and growth teams to design differentiated, insight-driven medical communications solutions.
- Lead strategic direction for proposals and pitches to increase competitiveness and win rates.
- Lead high-impact strategic initiatives aligned to client objectives and business priorities.
- Facilitate senior-level client workshops, strategic planning sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
- Identify industry trends and emerging innovations to advance strategic approaches and service capabilities.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with senior clients and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to thought leadership and innovation initiatives that strengthen market reputation.
- Support commercial strategy through scoping input, forecasting alignment, and scope change discussions.
- Mentor and coach team members to strengthen strategic and therapeutic expertise.
Do you have what we are looking for? Skills & expertise
- Advanced degree in life sciences, clinical science, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years' experience in medical affairs or commercial strategy within medical communications or strategic healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated success contributing to growth of medical communications or publications programs, ideally in global markets.
- Experience supporting business development, client strategy, and pitch presentations.
- Strong therapeutic (Immunology), regulatory, and industry knowledge relevant to medical strategy.
- Proven ability to develop and present strategic proposals and recommendations.
- Effective cross-functional collaborator and stakeholder partner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including senior client interaction.
- Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated mentoring and team development capability.
- Comfortable adopting new technologies and data tools, including emerging AI-enabled platforms.
