Responsibilities

  • Deliver instrumentation and controls engineering services that meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Initiate, manage and if required supervise instrumentation and controls engineering project requirements.
  • Perform instrumentation and controls engineering services such as:
    • Participate in relevant meetings,
    • Prepare progress reports,
    • Follow required checking procedures,
    • Ensure the project scope is clear,
    • Ensure changes comply with project change management processes,
    • Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities,
    • Write requisitions,
    • Conduct technical bid evaluations,
    • Write purchase orders.
  • Function as the instrumentation and controls engineering lead on specific projects.
  • Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its customer's requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the instrumentation and controls engineering field.
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the instrumentation and controls engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with the instrumentation and controls engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customers.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
  • Makes formal presentations to the customer or Company management.

Requirements

  • Technical and Industry Experience:
    • Extensive years of relevant discipline experience.
    • Experience working in project leadership role.
    • Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
    • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
    • A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the instrumentation and controls engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
    • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Cumptent use of instrumentation and controls engineering specific software.
    • Cumptent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
    • Substantial technical and practical experience in instrumentation and controls engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if allowed by law.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
