Senior Principal Engineer, Water Market Leader, Food & Beverage

About the role

Geosyntec is seeking a Senior Principal Water Market Leader, Food & Beverage to join our dynamic team. This role offers an opportunity to lead the expansion of our water and wastewater engineering practices, focusing on the food and beverage market. Based in one of our offices in Oakland, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Syracuse, NY, Washington DC, Chicago, IL, Acton, MA, or Seattle, WA, or from any of our other Geosyntec-based offices across the US.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategy for achieving significant market share for Geosyntec in the Water for the Food and Beverage market area.
• Collaborate with leading experts and business contacts to develop new process engineering opportunities.
• Support business growth associated with complex drinking water and industrial wastewater projects across the country, including full-service project delivery.
• Lead the development and implementation of the firm’s strategic plan.
• Engage with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec’s full-service delivery capabilities with the market demands of the food and beverage industry.
• Take on staff leadership and mentoring roles, recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists.
• Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties, including fieldwork and contractor oversight.
• Ensure client expectations are understood and met, budgets are adhered to, quality objectives are met, and follow-on work is attained.
• Make contributions to the profession that result in individual recognition as an industry leader.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial and municipal clients with water supply, water treatment, and water re-use projects.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and growing a practice that sustains a group of professional junior staff.
• Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
