Senior Principal Engineer- Transmission Planning

About the role

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Principal Consultant - Transmission Planning supporting our Resource Integration Advisory group with a primary focus on performing interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform Interconnection feasibility studies for new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects.
• Optimize the size and location of new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects.
• Prepare interconnection applications for new generation, storage, demand and transmission projects including development of power flow, dynamic and short circuit study models.
• Guide generation, storage, demand and transmission interconnection applications through the full interconnection study process.
• Interface with the host transmission operator throughout the interconnection study process and review and scrutinize their interconnection study reports.
• Perform general power system studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in the power industry.
• A Professional Engineering License is highly desirable.
• MS or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Electrical Power Systems is strongly preferred.
