About the role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. This position will collaborate with the Chief Architect and Systems Engineering lead to design architecture solutions for USAF Open Architecture development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to create conceptual data models and data flows
  • Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility
  • Implement data strategies and develop physical data models
  • Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model
  • Perform Systems Requirements analysis
  • Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering.
  • Must have experience modeling software systems and software system of systems.
  • Must have experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred
  • Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
  • Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
  • Experience with Cameo large scale Vehicle development
  • Experienced developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO

Skills

  • Experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $122,800.00 - $184,200.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
