Senior Principal Engineer - AI/ML Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Director, Design Engineering with expertise in AI/ML system architecture and hardware design. This role involves defining advanced AI/ML infrastructure solutions, leading cross-disciplinary teams through design phases, and ensuring quality metrics are met.

Responsibilities

• Develop system requirements, technical proposals, and trade-off analyses.
• Build technical relationships with suppliers and partners on product roadmaps and technologies.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, especially during escalations.
• Support business development and contribute to industry standards and presentations.
• Participate in resource hiring and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 15+ years in server and/or AI/ML hardware design, with at least 5 years in AI infrastructure system design.
• Strong knowledge of AI workloads, compute systems, and hardware components such as Nvidia, AMD, or Intel GPUs.
• Experience with power, cooling, mechanical, software, and electrical integration, along with system-level testing and interoperability.
• Excellent communication and customer presentation skills; prior involvement in industry groups preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Additional business or technology studies advantageous.

Schedule

This remote role requires occasional travel and involves engaging with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to lead innovative AI hardware solutions.
