About the role

We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead board and system hardware design for next-generation Ethernet switch, networking, and AI infrastructure platforms. In this customer-facing technical leadership role, you will work closely with customers and internal engineering teams to support hardware design from architecture through production, ensuring high-performance, reliable, and manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical advisor for customers designing systems using Marvell Ethernet Switch and UALink solutions.
  • Review board architecture, schematics, PCB stack-ups, layouts, and system designs.
  • Develop and support hardware reference designs.
  • Provide guidance on PCB design, power delivery, thermal management, mechanical integration, and high-speed system design.
  • Support board bring-up, debugging, root cause analysis, and production readiness.
  • Collaborate with silicon, hardware, software, packaging, SI/PI, and operations teams.
  • Drive design for reliability, manufacturability, and testability (DFM/DFT).
  • Deliver technical training and mentor engineers.
  • Support customer engagements and technical reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in hardware design and validation of high-speed networking or compute systems.
  • 7+ years of board and system design experience with modern SerDes technologies (25G NRZ through 112G/224G PAM4).
  • Hands-on experience with board architecture, schematics, PCB layout guidance, bring-up, and validation.
  • Expertise in PCB stack-up design, high-speed materials, power delivery (PDN), SI/PI, thermal design, and mechanical integration.
  • Experience with Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, high-speed SerDes, and hardware debugging.
  • Strong understanding of DFM, DFT, and product lifecycle management.
  • Customer-facing experience and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ethernet switch platforms or AI networking solutions.
  • Background in reference platform design and customer enablement.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center platforms.
  • Familiarity with ODM/CM manufacturing and reliability testing.
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro/Sigrity or Mentor Xpedition/HyperLynx.
  • Knowledge of advanced cooling technologies (liquid/immersion).

Pay

$200,000 – $266,400 annually
