Senior Principal Architect - Core Platform Engineering

Job Responsibilities

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.
  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities.
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design.
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert.
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improve velocity and quality of output across teams and functions.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate major-incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Led reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC/toolchain practices (e.g., CI/CD quality checks, test/validation automation, and operational readiness), ensuring traceability/auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Demonstrates experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to improve SRE workflows (e.g., incident investigation support and knowledge capture) with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expert expertise in one or more programming language(s), e.g., Golang, Java.
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives.
  • Prioritizes practical cloud native experience across one or more public cloud providers e.g., AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations for correctness and risk, define appropriate guardrails for team usage, and ensure outcomes align to resiliency and security expectations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Terraform, Pulumi, Helm charts, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with architecture review boards and governance processes.
  • Demonstrated executive and leadership presence, with specific examples of influencing technical direction at scale.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into enterprise platforms, with a focus on reliability and security.
  • Strong background in incident management, production support, and on-call operations in cloud environments.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud, AI/ML, or architecture domains.
