Senior Preconstruction Manager
About the role
A Senior Preconstruction Manager leads and manages multiple projects working with a team of preconstruction managers, and shared team resources to deliver exceptional deliverables to our clients. They are responsible for the day-to-day execution of preconstruction services from initial program design phase until final construction documents are complete for assigned projects. This includes feasibility studies, budget estimates, comparative studies, value engineering, and presentations to both internal and external clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects
- Provide preconstruction services from initial program design phase to final construction documents
- Conduct feasibility studies, budget estimates, comparative studies, and value engineering
- Present findings to both internal and external clients
- Manage the design and preconstruction phase with all stakeholders including owners, design teams, consultants, and HITT operations
- Develop and coach others
- Participate in the hiring and termination process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, preferred
- At least (7) years of related commercial construction work experience
- Lead preconstruction manager on several projects
- Lead others as team leader and have worked to develop and coach others
Qualifications
- Software proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, high level of proficiency using Excel, On Screen Take-off (OST), Adobe products including Bluebeam
- Direction, supervision & authority: Typically reports to the Vice President of Preconstruction or Preconstruction Executive, directly supervises preconstruction managers, assistant managers, and project engineers
- Skills: Provide complete services to clients and operations teams, prepare and analyze pricing proposals, manage design and preconstruction phase, present and interview with clients, understand building systems and opportunities to control or reduce costs, understand construction drawings and specifications, understand project scheduling, understand geotechnical reports, understand Building Code and LEED Requirements, leadership, decision-making, positive attitude, integrity, self-motivation, flexibility, teamwork, customer service, time management, respect
