Senior Pre-Construction Estimator

About the role

The Senior Estimator provides full-time support to the Vice President of Pre-Construction, frequently interacting with clients and contractors. This role assists management in preparing work to be estimated, gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be estimated
• Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements for projects
• Attend bid meetings, owner meetings, and other meetings with stakeholders
• Work directly with the estimating team to generate estimates for small and large projects
• Communicate and interact with sub-contractors and component suppliers
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in the construction industry
• Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and customers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or a related field, or 7 to 10 years of equivalent experience
• Must be able to review plans and evaluate drawings quickly and accurately
• Familiarity with local jurisdictions, codes, and review processes (a plus)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
• Ability to give clear directions and respond to inquiries
• Exceptional customer service skills

The Estimator’s physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires:

• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
