About the role
The Senior Practice Leader manages and provides operational leadership to complex multi-site/multi-specialty service lines within the MarinHealth Medical Network Ambulatory Clinics. This position ensures alignment with MarinHealth’s enterprise-wide goals in safety, affordability, quality, satisfaction, and access. Collaborating with physician leadership, the role oversees operational management, clinical services, and program coordination to drive superior patient experience, quality outcomes, employee and physician satisfaction, and financial performance.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing practice business plans, measuring performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, and standardizing workflows. The role also involves managing capital and operational budgets, overseeing revenue cycle accuracy, and serving as a resource for clinical and non-clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for multi-site/multi-specialty ambulatory clinics, ensuring alignment with MarinHealth’s enterprise-wide goals.
- Collaborate with physician leadership to develop and implement business plans, measure performance, and drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with clinic, affiliate, vendor, and regulatory policies and procedures (state, federal, and local).
- Identify best practices, standardize workflows, and propose actionable plans for operational changes.
- Manage capital and operational budgets to achieve financial targets through effective use of personnel, resources, and supplies.
- Oversee quality and accuracy of clinical documentation and revenue cycle processes, including claims completion and bill accuracy.
- Serve as an expert resource for clinical and non-clinical staff on operational and revenue cycle matters.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to facilitate initiatives and resolve issues.
- Provide guidance or direct intervention in complex situations with an empathetic, solution-based approach.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of supervisory and/or management experience in a complex, multi-site/multi-specialty healthcare setting, including budgeting, fiscal management, and revenue cycle.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of ambulatory operations and their impact on broader health system workflows.
- In-depth understanding of state, federal, and local regulations applicable to ambulatory settings.
- Ability to build strong relationships with physicians, medical directors, and key stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and mentoring to motivate and engage staff.
- Tactical and analytical thinking, with the ability to develop plans, identify obstacles, and resolve operational issues.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or practice management systems; proficiency in EPIC/APeX is a plus.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $109,283 – $134,347 – $163,758, compliant with applicable law. Individual pay is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements follow those agreements.
Schedule
- Full-time, 8-hour day shifts.
