Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of high-voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Ensure reliability of critical infrastructure including switchgear, MCCs, substations, and plant power distribution systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead resolution of complex electrical failures impacting production.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for processing plant electrical and control systems.
  • Mentor maintenance personnel and supervisors on best practices, diagnostics, and repair strategies.
  • Support rapid response efforts to reduce downtime and restore production safely and efficiently.

Project Management

  • Lead electrical scope for capital and sustaining projects, from design through commissioning.
  • Manage contractors and ensure quality installation of electrical infrastructure, power lines, and plant systems.
  • Oversee system integration across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical projects.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline efforts across operations, engineering, and contractors.
  • Drive accountability for project delivery in alignment with production and operational priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, and electrical safety standards.
  • Conduct system risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate hazards.
  • Act as a leader in promoting a strong site safety culture.

Optimization and Leadership

  • Identify and implement improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and system performance.
  • Support implementation of new technologies in automation, controls, and power management systems.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce downtime and improve long-term asset performance.
  • Partner closely with operations and maintenance leadership to support production goals.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to develop team capabilities.
  • Serve as a key technical resource for site-wide electrical systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical systems within mining, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with: High-voltage distribution systems and infrastructure, Process plant construction, commissioning, and operations, Electrical system troubleshooting in live production environments, Proven background leading multi-discipline industrial construction and infrastructure projects, Experience managing installation of electrical systems such as power lines, plant systems, and process facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of: Power system design and analysis, Electrical codes and standards (NEC, MSHA), Industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs, SCADA).
  • Experience with design and modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD) preferred.
  • Proven ability to: Lead teams and contractors across complex projects, Manage budgets, schedules, and execution in high-risk environments.
  • Protective relay coordination & power studies, Reliability engineering (RCFA, RCM), High-voltage system design & substation experience, Capital planning & project justification.

QualificationsReside in CO

The salary range for this role is from $120,000-$130,000.

Working Conditions & Location

  • Environment: This role involves working in both office and field environments, including outdoor work at mine sites with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Location: The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level.
  • Schedule: M-Th, 10hrs / day

Physical Demands

  • The role may require walking on uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
