Senior Power Platform/SharePoint Online Application Developer

Location: Oak Ridge, TN; Germantown, MD; or Lemont, IL

Pay: $100,000–160,000

About the role

Leads a team in planning, policy adherence, and personnel management while overseeing development projects. Responsible for mentoring junior team members, daily supervision, task assignment, and annual employee evaluations. Oversees the completion of development projects and provides overall leadership for the program, department, or functional area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, direct, and mentor subordinate staff; communicate job expectations and enforce organizational policies, procedures, and core values.
• Handle recruiting, timecard approvals, performance reviews, and disciplinary measures.
• Modify and create special-purpose software to ensure systems efficiency and integrity.
• Provide direction on preparing functional specifications for program development and oversee design, coding, debugging, and documentation.
• Ensure the team maintains compliance with development standards and conventions.
• Develop specifications for complex problems and train team members on solving intricate issues.
• Oversee the establishment of product requirements from inception to conclusion, ensuring all development phases (testing, debugging, refining) are followed.
• Review and edit required documentation, including block diagrams, logic flow charts, and software program documentation; provide feedback to developers for improvement.
• Guide the creation of coded unit tests and ensure testers/Information Assurance teams provide necessary feedback to resolve identified issues.
• Establish best practices, policies, and processes; ensure development team adherence.
• Evaluate systems designs and change requests to maintain technically feasible and scalable program architecture aligned with industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
• 4–6 years of experience with programming or web development activities.
• 0–2 years of management experience.
• Experience in information system design, including application programming on large-scale case management systems and development of complex software.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other programming languages to provide direction and training during all software development phases.
• Demonstrated use of best programming standards and practices in a professional capacity.
