About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to join a growing Analytics and Business Intelligence team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions. This role will serve as the organization's Power BI subject matter expert, partnering closely with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business performance. The Senior Power BI Developer will lead the development of scalable datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks while ensuring data quality, performance optimization, and reporting governance. This individual will play a key role in establishing Power BI best practices, enhancing self-service analytics capabilities, and supporting business users with data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate combines advanced Power BI development expertise, strong SQL skills, business acumen, and a passion for building impactful analytical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and semantic models that support financial and operational decision-making.
- Lead the development of scalable reporting solutions by translating business and reporting requirements into sustainable, high-performing dashboards and data models.
- Develop advanced DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and optimized semantic models that ensure reporting accuracy, usability, and performance.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and support improvements to data pipelines that enhance reporting efficiency and data accessibility.
- Perform independent analysis of financial and operational data, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks while providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Serve as the Power BI subject matter expert, providing guidance on dashboard design, reporting standards, development best practices, and technical problem-solving.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize reporting initiatives, support strategic projects, and drive data-informed business decisions.
- Mentor and support other team members in dashboard development, report design, and Power BI best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analytics, or Power BI development.
- Proven experience designing and developing end-to-end Power BI reporting solutions.
- Experience working with financial and operational data in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions that drive business value.
Skills
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, including DAX, semantic data modeling, dashboard development, and performance optimization.
- Experience developing and maintaining Power BI datasets, reports, and self-service reporting solutions.
- Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working in evolving environments and developing creative solutions to complex business challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with SAP ERP systems and related reporting environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, or other modern analytics platforms.
- Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300) preferred.
- Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations functions.
- Experience within the food service, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit business industry is a plus.

Pay
Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
