Job Responsibilities
- Analyze mission-related issues and conduct ad hoc research particularly to support the development and review of Department of War (DoW) policies related to organizational governance structures and management reforms.
- Support activity tracking and reporting on various governance forums.
- Aid with preparing briefing material for senior leader decision making and information.
- Gather information on the status of strategic initiatives; compile and analyze data; and support briefings and task development.
- Prepare briefings on findings of significance related to governance initiatives/proposals.
- Utilize, configure, and maintain knowledge management/decision support tools, in particular MS SharePoint, to provide online sources for governance information for the DoW.
- Cook up coordination with external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Advise government personnel in correctly preparing and coordinating policy documentation.
- Rapidly synthesize complex information for senior leader decision making.
- Interact and build relationships with staff from various DoW Components.
- As necessary, aid the primary staffing element supporting Secretary and Deputy Secretary-led governance processes by providing administrative/meeting operations support, and facilitating, promoting, and integrating required analytical support, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Highly preferred: 6 or more years of experience supporting OSW, and 3 or more years of experience directly supporting organizational and management policy development and senior governance activities within OSW or the senior levels of the Military Departments.
- At least 3 years of experience managing, utilizing, and maximizing efficiencies with state-of-the-art web-based collaborative tools (e.g., SharePoint) using knowledge management best practices.
- Knowledge of current DoW functions and organization. Working knowledge of DoW issuance and policy guidance coordination procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with senior officials and senior staff.
- Commitment to exceptional client service and professionalism while working at the client site.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and common office software applications.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience.
- Masters degree preferred.
Required Clearance
- Active DoW Top Secret clearance; Ability to secure a TS/SCI clearance required to maintain employment.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Target Salary Range
$80,001 - $120,000.
