About the Role

An evolving media platform and podcast focused on candid, substantive conversations about leadership, innovation, management, and accountability in Jewish communal life is hiring a Senior Podcast Producer & Editorial Director. The platform features in-depth interviews with leaders across philanthropic, business, political, cultural, and media spheres.

This is a hands-on senior role that owns the full interview lifecycle, from editorial strategy and guest development through in-person recording, post-production handoff, and episode follow-through. The role requires in-person attendance at every Manhattan recording session and close collaboration with the host. The position starts part-time with meaningful opportunity to expand as the platform grows.

What the Role Covers

  • Owning the editorial calendar and interview pipeline: identifying consequential guests, developing themes and angles, prioritizing targets, and maintaining a disciplined forward schedule
  • Researching guests deeply, conducting or coordinating pre-interviews, and preparing concise background briefs, story angles, proposed questions, and sensitivities for the host
  • Leading outreach and relationship development from first approach through confirmation, including warm introductions, direct pitching, calendar coordination, releases, and guest care
  • Attending every Manhattan recording as on-site producer: coordinating studio, videographer, audio, lighting, guest arrival, timing, and run-of-show
  • Directing the handoff to the remote post-production team after each recording, organizing files and notes, communicating editorial priorities, and keeping editing, clips, titles, show notes, and publication on track
  • Maintaining guest and source relationships after publication, identifying follow-on interviews, distribution opportunities, and ways to extend each conversation as a durable media asset
  • Tracking performance across guests, topics, formats, reach, and audience response to improve future interview strategy

Qualifications

  • Strong prior experience in podcast production, journalism, communications, television/news production, documentary, public affairs, or media relations
  • Journalist or communications director background strongly preferred
  • Existing relationships across Jewish communal, philanthropic, business, political, cultural, or media networks are a major plus
  • Excellent editorial judgment, curiosity, persuasive writing, interviewing instincts, and discretion
  • Confidence communicating with senior leaders and public figures
  • Ability to work independently and in person while coordinating a remote editorial and post-production team
  • Familiarity with tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom/Riverside, Notion/Airtable, Descript, Frame.io, and Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
  • U.S. citizen with a four-year degree from a U.S. college or university required
