Senior PMT-ES, Amazon Aurora

About the role

This role focuses on defining seamless user experiences across Amazon Aurora, which involves improving the getting started experience, query execution experience, and building new experiences that better utilize generative AI. You will play a pivotal role defining product requirements and tirelessly champion the needs of our customers. You'll work with our customers, partners, software vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents. The successful candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a solid technical background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for the cloud and information technology. Given this role focuses on bringing existing workloads to Aurora, we welcome candidates with past experience in databases.

A day in the life

As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you'll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects. You'll also:

• Build high-impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base.
• Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input.
• Work in a startup-like development environment, where you're always working on the most important stuff.

Basic qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience
• 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
• Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Preferred qualifications

• Degree in advanced technology, or 10+ years of database (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience
• Experience with database, data warehouse or data lake solutions
• Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs
• Experience with external customer interaction
• 3+ years of relevant professional or military work experience which occurred after completing your undergraduate program and prior to starting your MBA or master's program
