Job Responsibilities

  • Perform design engineering and provide system design support by working closely with all MEP disciplines to assure well-coordinated designs.
  • Consulting and interfacing with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning.
  • Attend coordination meetings and job sites.
  • Perform calculations under Senior Engineer/Designer.
  • Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards.
  • Apply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications).
  • Conducting peer reviews and provide QA/QC oversight.
  • Perform code interpretation.
  • Aid in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross-selling Syska services and by attending industry and clients events.

Engineer Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; exceptional candidates may substitute with significant years of experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience in the Plumbing Design field.
  • Experience with the latest version of REVIT is a must.
  • A working knowledge of the various applications of fire suppression systems gained through both formal training (NFPA 99) and project experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Mechanical / Plumbing trades, building codes, and drawings/documents.
  • Detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently.
  • Ability to independently perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and estimate construction costs and evaluate the feasibility of construction.
  • Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification, highly preferred.

Pay

New York Pay Range: $116,615 - $169,922 USD
