About the role

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer for our Lafayette, CA office with 5+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. This position offers a salary range of $115,000 - 150,000 (dependent on experience) and a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Reviewing and marking up others' drawings.
  • Generating electronic responses to questions and reviews.
  • Attending meetings with owners, clients, and architects.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to staff engineers on appropriate design.
  • Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings to determine conformance with contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Conferencing with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures; resolve system deficiencies and provide technical information.
  • Researching and analyzing client design proposal specifications, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of the design or application.
  • Specifying system components or directing modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance.
  • Developing client relations through feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience in MEP Design.
  • Piping and equipment layout using Revit.
  • Flow tests and engineering calculations.
  • Laying out waste/vent piping; domestic hot/cold piping; and storm piping.
  • Determine preliminary fire/domestic water requirements for various building types.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Licensed Engineer (not required).

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and related software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
