Senior Plumber
Job Description
The Plumber will be responsible for overseeing and performing complex plumbing tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of all campus plumbing systems. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for students, faculty and staff.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and water supply systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
- Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
- Cookordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
- Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Six years combined training in electrician trade, or 4 years with applicable license.
- Journeyman or Master license and applicable Class A-D license(s).
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Exertion
Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting. Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
