Hybrid$183k–$229k/yrFull-time

Our roster has an opening with your name on it. As a leader in Platform Engineering, you’ll guide Engineering Managers and Platform Engineers across multiple teams, delivering and improving the internal platform capabilities that enable engineers and AI agents to build, deploy, and operate software safely and efficiently.

About the role

You’ll develop managers and engineers, set direction, and ensure teams focus on the right priorities while remaining hands-on with delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Security, you’ll shape the roadmap, manage cross-team priorities, and turn common engineering needs into reusable, self-service platform capabilities. As AI reshapes software development, you’ll help define how our platform supports engineers and AI-driven workflows at scale.

Reporting to the Platform Engineering Director, you’ll combine organizational leadership with technical judgment to influence direction, challenge decisions, and foster an environment where teams deliver effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and organizational leadership, influencing architecture and engineering direction.
  • Manage priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs across teams, removing blockers in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Security.
  • Drive platform reliability and operational maturity using SLOs, observability, incidents, and operational data.
  • Use platform metrics and developer feedback to measure adoption, developer experience, reliability, and impact.
  • Champion engineering standards for automation, code quality, observability, security, Infrastructure as Code, and operational excellence.
  • Build organizational capability through workforce planning, hiring, succession planning, and developing future leaders.

  • Experience setting direction and translating strategy into execution, aligning teams around clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership to shape roadmaps, prioritize investments, and manage competing demands.
  • Experience building or scaling internal developer platforms and self-service capabilities, with a strong understanding of platform-as-a-product principles.
  • Experience using platform metrics and developer feedback to measure adoption, developer experience, reliability, and outcomes.
  • Strong technical understanding of platform architecture, distributed systems, and modern software delivery.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and evaluate trade-offs at an organizational level.
  • Experience with modern platform technologies and practices such as Kubernetes, AWS, GitOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and observability.
  • Understanding of how AI-assisted development and agent-based workflows are changing platform interactions.
