About the role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining a modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution that supports a large-scale, mission-critical program. This program provides the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing, enabling the delivery of a strategic national asset. You will work in a dynamic environment that includes a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware. Your work will directly contribute to the deployment, implementation, and modernization of cutting-edge infrastructure solutions. This position requires hands-on technical expertise, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the ability to document and maintain baseline controls. You will also have opportunities to support the integration of cloud and containerized solutions, ensuring scalability and performance across on-premises and virtualized environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Consul
- Support the deployment and customization of software tools, including the creation of templates, dashboards, and scripts to meet program requirements
- Assist with the integration and orchestration of containerized platforms, such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, architect, and support build/test pipelines optimized for performance and scalability
- Perform Linux system administration tasks, including configuration and maintenance of RHEL 6.0+ environments
- Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket)
- Maintain and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) products into the IaC environment
- Document processes and maintain baseline control for the IaC solutions
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers on specialized tools and best practices
- Occasionally travel to customer sites for upgrades and implementation activities as needed
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Experience with Linux system administration, including RHEL 6.0+ environments
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible
- Experience with cloud, containerization, and Infrastructure/Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) solutions
- Active and current TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required on day 1
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
- Proficiency with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and SonarQube
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, or Go
- Familiarity with databases such as Postgres and tools like Cucumber and Eclipse
- General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization
- Background in installing, configuring, and integrating COTS/FOSS products
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain

Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
