Senior Platform Engineer – MuleSoft Platform Architect

What You'll Do

  • Define and own the architecture, standards, and roadmap for the MuleSoft platform, including Runtime Fabric and Omni Gateway.
  • Lead platform architecture decisions for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployments, ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, and cost optimization.
  • Establish and govern API management, API lifecycle, discoverability, and reuse strategies across the enterprise.
  • Enable secure exposure, governance, and consumption of APIs and AI-driven assets.
  • Define platform capabilities and standards for CI/CD, observability, operational excellence, and multi-environment deployments.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and application teams to align platform strategy with business and technology objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on platform strategy, governance, and investment decisions.

What You'll Need

  • Experience in integration architecture, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years of hands-on MuleSoft platform experience, including:
    • Mule Runtime / Runtime Fabric
    • Omni Gateway (formerly Flex Gateway)
    • API Manager / Exchange
  • Strong expertise in API-led connectivity and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with cloud-native and hybrid deployment models (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting OAuth-based API security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management concepts, including OAuth, DCR, mTLS, and Zero Trust.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Experience designing scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise integration platforms.

What Will Set You Apart

  • MuleSoft certifications (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect).
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, service mesh technologies, or API gateway platforms.
  • Experience supporting or leading API management organizations, Centers of Excellence (CoE), or enterprise API governance initiatives.
  • Experience enabling API-driven AI, data, or analytics platform integrations.

Work Schedule

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
