CGI is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support a high-impact enterprise cloud modernization initiative for one of our strategic clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex platform challenges across Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native infrastructure. You'll help design, build, and support secure, scalable cloud solutions, improve deployment automation, strengthen reliability and observability, and partner closely with engineering, architecture, security, and operations teams. This position is based in Canton, MA, with a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions.
  • Define and document best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements and IT strategy.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards for code quality and design.
  • Guide and coach junior engineers on the team as they develop skills in Cloud Engineering.
  • Provide technical leadership in the deployment and operational management of cloud solutions.
  • Design and maintain cloud provisioning templates while adhering to client security, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications, ensuring adherence to security and compliance policies.
  • Design, build, and deploy cloud applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.
  • Participate in all aspects of the SDLC for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
  • Educate teams on new cloud-based initiatives and provide associated training.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills to address issues before they impact business productivity.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all automated processes.
  • Work with Prod and Non-Prod environment owners to develop and maintain role-based workflows supporting segregated duties.
  • Coordinate and lead training and information-sharing meetings with the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Oversee and support production deployments during major release activities for components owned by the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in committees pertaining to Cloud Governance and Architecture.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of related IT experience.
  • 5–7 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role with knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence others, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and other IT departments.
  • Respect for change management, environmental integrity, and process workflow within a rapidly maturing organization.
  • Strong analytical and technical ability, including general issue troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
  • Ability to quickly learn client-specific processes, topology, and tools, often with limited documentation.

Skills

  • OS Level Administration (Linux, Windows).
  • IaC Provisioning Tools (Terraform, ARM, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Software development lifecycle principles.
  • Build Orchestration Tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.).
  • Azure experience with Terraform and IaC Strategy (highly desirable).
  • Deployment Tools (CD/RO, Ansible, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Source Control Management (GitHub, SVN, BitBucket, etc.).
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
  • Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • DevOps principles and CI/CD tools like CloudBees/Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $98,500.00 – $172,400.00.
