Senior Plant Accountant

What You’ll Do

• Enhance reporting content and processes to ensure that reporting meets the business needs and is produced efficiently
• Cook up the month-, quarter- and year-end closing and reporting activities for the business
• Streamline current process and identify process improvement opportunities to automate
• Prepare detailed variance analysis and partner with finance members to research issues and present findings to leadership
• Cook up financial forecasts
• Prepare financial reports for internal use at the company by collecting, analyzing, formatting and presenting information
• Supervise accounts payable and invoicing activities
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Perform monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to review with operations team & business unit management
• Absorb and analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practices
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent experience in manufacturing/cost accounting
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance/accounting (Cost Accounting experience in Manufacturing highly preferred)
• Track record of process improvement, simplification and streamlining financial processes
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Experience with various systems and financial reporting tools (Oracle, On, JobScope, Power BI, GL Wand/Reports Wand)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data modeling skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and be flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to interface with business leaders
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Extensive knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
