About the role
The Senior Plans & Policy Consultant will provide senior level program support to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Operations, Plans, and Strategy (OPNAV N3N5).
Responsibilities
- Provide innovative consulting and analytical support to facilitate strategic decision and policy making.
- Perform multidisciplinary forms of plans and policy analysis.
- Support the development and advancement of Navy initiatives and policies promoting integration and effective operations with other Services.
- Deliver presentations to senior leaders.
- Research, develop information papers and briefings, and coordinate off-site activities.
- Facilitate planning conferences and coordinate policy positions across Navy stakeholders.
- Advocate for the development and coordination of topics and related issues across DoD and DON.
Requirements
- Active Secret level security clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance at this level.
- Master’s degree from an accredited university in the field of military science, operations research, maritime policy, international relations, national security affairs, strategic studies of Government, or related fields.
- At least ten (10) years of progressive DoD experience, including experience in Echelon 1 policy and planning; fluency in OSD and Naval organizations; familiarity with current U.S. Service, Joint and DoD Capstone Strategies and Policies; documentation, editorial, analytic and research standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Advanced writing and editing skills.
- Ability to track and follow through on projects to completion.
- Superior organization and interpersonal skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
- Prior OPNAV and/or SECNAV experience is preferred.

$110,000 - $150,000 (annualized USD)
Schedule
Monday - Friday (40 hours/week regularly)
