Major Responsibilities
- Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code.
- The stress work includes the modeling of the piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
- Working knowledge of dynamic analysis and ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Codes.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Participates in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
- Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions.
- Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and/or difficult coordination requirements.
- Captures plant design engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
Qualifications
- Level I: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- Level II: Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- EIT certification or PE registration preferred.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD/DOE project experience preferred.
- Must be a United States Citizen.
