Senior Pharmacy Technician
About the role
Plymouth, Massachusetts-based Optum is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position supports pharmacy operations, processes prescriptions, and manages inventory.
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists by processing prescriptions, entering data, and preparing medications including compounding and labeling
- Deliver excellent customer service during medication pick-up, payment processing, and counseling offers
- Manage inventory, receive and inspect shipments, price and store medications, and restock clinical areas
- Administer vaccines, report safety events, and contribute to quality improvement and departmental initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with the pharmacy team, uphold compliance with regulations, and maintain required certifications
- May be required to travel to other sites if needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Massachusetts
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB, CPhT, or NHA or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- Certified in Immunization Administration by an ACPE accredited training program or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
- 1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
- Access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualification
- 2+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy or outpatient pharmacy setting

Pay and Schedule
The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours/week. Will be working an 8-hr shift during Site Operating Hours of: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:00pm, with rotating Saturday/Sunday rotation 9:00am - 5:00pm
Qualifications
