Senior Pharmacy Technician

Careers With Purpose at Sanford Health is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Marsh Med Ctr Rice Lake in Rice Lake, WI. This position is full-time and varies in shift.
Responsibilities
- Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of pharmacists.
- Maintains drug inventory and stock control systems to ensure clinical and administrative effectiveness.
- Aids pharmacists in compounding, preparing, and dispensing medical prescriptions based on information from clients, customers, or patients.
- Uses computers to enter, access, or retrieve data, establish and maintain patient profiles, and manage new prescription and refill requests.
- Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs and controls inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies.
- Coordinates departmental quality assurance and other client-focused services with supervisory staff, creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Projects and work often require problem resolution, generating new solutions, and looking beyond immediate problems.
- Evaluates projects and work upon completion to ensure objectives are met.
- Modifies existing tools, techniques, and processes with approval from leadership.
- Serves as a resource for leadership and staff, and mentors others.
- Leads in resolving day-to-day challenges.
- Supports compliance with accepted standards and laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
- Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including leading work guidance to others.
- Maintain annual registration as a Pharmacy Technician through the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state privileges as required by position.
- Complete required hours of Pharmacy Technician continuing education.
