Senior Pharmacist - Part Time - Webster Medical Center

About the role

The Senior Pharmacist at Sanford Health plays a crucial role in transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. They apply advanced knowledge and experience within the pharmacy discipline, often functioning in ambiguous situations, and exercises significant latitude in determining objectives and approaches to moderately complex assignments.

Responsibilities

• Determines own methods and approaches to work and establishes own work priorities and timelines;
• Contributes actionable ideas in planning sessions;
• Generates new solutions to complex problems, frequently looking beyond the immediate problem to wider implications;
• Identifies areas for improvement and proactively addresses problems within scope of responsibility;
• Makes recommendations for new processes; modifies existing tools, techniques, and processes with approval from leadership;
• Serves as a project leader;
• Serves as a resource for leadership and staff, as well as a mentor to others in respective clinical areas;
• Resolves day-to-day technical and/or procedural challenges;
• Ensures compliance with accepted standards and laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy;
• Safeguards policies and procedures for the storage and handling of drugs and the communication of information to the public in relation to drug therapy;
• Supervises all professional and non-professional employees of the pharmacy;
• Maintains record keeping systems;
• Ensures policies and procedures are implemented for the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA), pharmacy technicians, quality assurance, and other drug management services;
• Performs staff pharmacist duties according to the pharmacy's needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy;
• Two years of experience preferred;
• Thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions;
• Knowledge of state and local regulations;
• Licenses must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
