About the Role
The Senior Personal Banking Advisor performs a variety of branch duties in accordance with regulatory and security guidelines. This role generates new business through educating and cross-selling products and services, and assists the Personal Banking Manager in all aspects of branch operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients by telephone or in person with new account services, including additions or changes in client accounts.
- Actively cross-sell all bank products.
- Fill out contract forms, determine charges or fees for requested services, collect deposits, prepare change of address records, and complete proper disclosure forms.
- Responsible for opening and closing the branch.
- Remain educated on all bank products, services, and technology offered by the bank.
- Adapt quickly to changing technology and increase consumer awareness of available technology through products and services.
- Educate clients on the use of technology and provide instruction or demonstration on proper usage.
- Solve client complaints, questions, or problems.
- Assist in all branch supervisory functions, including branch settlement, teller balancing, and ATM settlement.
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and examine checks for endorsements.
- Cash checks and pay out money after verification of signatures and client balances.
- Authorized to sign bank checks.
- Enter client transactions into the computer to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
- Respond to audit reviews and help complete branch monthly audit reports.
- Buy and sell foreign currency.
- Process domestic and international wires.
- Order branch cash and ship excess cash when necessary.
- Allow clients access to safe deposit boxes, following specified procedures.
- Monitor and review the financial institution’s security procedures and control access to the vault.
- Assist in maintaining all dual control logs.
- Use supervisory authority in support of teller transactions.
- Ensure the security and safety of all employees.
- Respond to after-hour alarm calls.
- Exercise supervisory authority appropriate to the assigned level.
- Lead branch huddles.
- Manage staff sales/referral performance and branch goals status.
- Observe staff interactions and contribute to staff coaching and development.
- Represent the bank in community-related activities.
- Attend educational programs/seminars related to banking.
- Backup the Personal Banking Manager as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with electronic delivery channels including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking/Mobile Deposit, eStatements, Bill Pay, etc.
- Must be or become a Notary Public.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work intuitively and find creative solutions to problems.
- Strong sales orientation with the ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt, and work in a team environment.
- High degree of professionalism and ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when needed.
The employee must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, read, interpret, and prepare business and banking documentation, and apply business- and financial-related concepts. Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with occasional travel within the market area and occasional lifting or moving of materials up to 10 pounds.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $24.29 to $30.18 per hour.
