About the role

The Senior People Operations Business Partner will work from our offices in Seattle. On-site requirements vary based on position and team.

Responsibilities

  • Build trust and strong relationships with executive, senior, and frontline managers; provide continuous support and coaching to develop and up-level management talent.
  • Operate talent assessment, performance evaluation, and performance management programs for the company; design and facilitate talent development, talent movement, and workforce planning programming.
  • Build and maintain strong, sustainable ties to managers, mentors, and team members in a way that positions People Operations as a strategic advisor and representative of Ai2’s “voice of team member.”
  • Steward our compensation philosophy through semi-annual compensation planning, compensation projects and programs, and high judgement compensation decisions affecting candidates and team members at all lifecycle stages.
  • Oversee–proactively address opportunities–in compliance, employment law, policy definition, and employee relations; outline continuous processes for inspection of related mechanisms.
  • Counsel team members at all levels on issues related to areas of responsibility.
  • Identify new areas of responsibility, perform assigned duties, and collaborate on various Operations and People Operations projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of progressive human resources (or relevant) experience; relevant advanced degree may substitute for equivalent years of direct experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify need for, design, implement, and iterate people/talent programs.
  • Breadth of experience across multiple functional areas of human resources.
  • History of working across highly diverse organizations and delivering results through effective stakeholder management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrable ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • High degree of confidentiality, curiosity, and objectivity.
  • Must be able to demonstrate Ai2s core values of “Innovate Together,” “Transparency,” and “Truly Open.”

Qualifications

  • Relevant advanced degrees, coursework, certifications, training, etc.
  • Experience working with technical and/or sciences talent.
  • Previous mentorship experience focused on growing junior HR talent across functional areas.
  • Interest in designing, testing, and articulating decision-making frameworks.
