Senior Pediatric Perfusionist

About the role

The Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist supports, treats, measures, or supplements the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of patients during routine and/or long-term support. They also participate in the Vanderbilt Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology Program as a clinical, didactic, and simulation instructor.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for clinical procedures and safely operates perfusion equipment while monitoring patient physiology according to established policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Participates in the Vanderbilt Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology Program through clinical, didactic, and simulation instruction.
• Researches through academic collaborations, data collection, and analysis, and publishes findings.
• Develops or enhances quality standards in cardiovascular perfusion that promote safety and protect patients.

Requirements

• Equipment Maintenance (Intermediate): Mastery of preventive maintenance in practical applications of a difficult nature.
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Intermediate): Mastery of medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of a difficult nature.
• Procedures Knowledge (Intermediate): Mastery of procedures knowledge in practical applications of a difficult nature.
• Cardiopulmonary Perfusion (Advanced): Uppermost levels of expertise in applying cardiopulmonary perfusion knowledge in challenging and complex situations.

Qualifications

• Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• LIC-Clinical Perfusionist - Tennessee.
• Relevant Work Experience: 5 years.
