About the role
The Senior Payroll Compliance Manager - Payroll Tax Specialist owns the health and accuracy of QuickBooks Workforce's payroll tax portfolio. This includes monitoring changes in tax agencies, documenting requirements, and ensuring compliance across various jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Design and build systems for identifying, documenting, and acting on compliance changes.
Manage and prioritize compliance issues reported by the Tax Operations team, and proactively address recurring patterns.
Maintain a database of tax jurisdictions, including filing methods, forms, and agency contacts.
Define and maintain rules for agency data exchange, and prepare compliance documentation for audits.
Partner with engineering teams to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work.
Explore and adopt AI tools to enhance compliance monitoring and documentation.
Qualifications
Proven expertise in payroll tax compliance, preferably at a payroll service provider.
Ability to read and interpret tax agency specifications and translate them into clear requirements for engineering teams.
Data-driven mindset and familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly.
Familiarity with structured agency data exchange formats and experience with automation tools.
