About the role
The Senior Payroll & Retirement Manager is a key leader responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll and retirement operations within a complex, multi-state manufacturing environment. This role partners across Finance, HR, and Operations to optimize processes, enhance system capabilities (UKG), and deliver data-driven insights that support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end payroll operations for a workforce distributed across 37+ states and multiple manufacturing sites
- Drive process improvement and standardization, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing manual workarounds
- Identify and resolve reporting, configuration, and mapping errors within UKG, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
- Design scalable payroll processes to support continued organizational growth and increasing workforce complexity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
- 8–12+ years of payroll experience, including leadership in complex, multi-state environments
- Hands-on UKG experience required, including system optimization and issue resolution
- Demonstrated success in streamlining processes and fixing reporting/mapping inaccuracies
- Strong experience with 401(k) plan administration and leading annual audits
- Experience supporting expatriate or international employees
- Prior team leadership experience required
