Role: Systems/Electronics Engineer specializing in space-based payloads, focusing on satellite constellation development. Responsibilities Manage technical interfaces between imaging payload and spacecraft bus, ensuring compatibility across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data systems.Lead system-level trade studies, evaluate design options, and analyze performance versus cost/risk.Model and assess payload power, data, and timing interactions; contribute to electrical interface documentation.Evaluate emerging technologies, COTS hardware, and new mission concepts for system integration feasibility.Participate in design reviews, ensuring payload systems meet performance, reliability, and environmental standards.Assess and troubleshoot payload and bus designs at the circuit level, leveraging electrical engineering expertise. Qualifications U.S. Citizen with active secret clearance or ability to obtain one.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field.3+ years of experience with space-based optical payloads or similar hardware systems.Experience with spacecraft-payload interfaces, electrical analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, and interpretation of schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts. Preferred Skills Master’s or PhD in relevant fields.Experience with radiation effects, modeling tools (STK, SPICE, HFSS), and imaging payloads.Knowledge of fault management, redundancy, and space industry standards. Compensation: Salary range within Colorado is $107,000 - $157,300 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
