About the role
This Opportunity WSP is one of the Globe's leading engineering firms, helping New England clients and communities improve their infrastructure, while committing to, and developing professional careers in construction management and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Interface with contractors and attend meetings.
- Mentor or supervise other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer, or project manager.
- Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
- Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
- Monitor maintenance of traffic.
- Take and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress.
Requirements
- A high school diploma with 9 years of applicable experience.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
- NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
- Average proficiency with MS Word Suite.
- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
