About the role

The Senior Patient Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves performing direct patient care tasks such as bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring. The technician also transports patients and patient-related materials safely and efficiently. They greet and orient patients to the care area, provide meal service and feeding assistance, and offer additional care as needed. Collaboration with other team members is essential to perform other services as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care tasks including bathing, assisting with elimination, bed making, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Transport patients and patient-related materials in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Greet and orient patients to the patient care area.
  • Provide meal service and feeding assistance functions.
  • Offer additional select care to patients as directed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to perform other services as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to use a computer for documentation and work-related purposes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
  • Provides service in a willing and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task.
  • Able to take direction well, but also be self-directed and motivated.
  • Requires a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
  • Deal effectively with patients, visitors, situations, and other Care Team members, while maintaining emotional control.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) months of clinical experience or CNA license required OR currently enrolled in Nursing school.
  • Must be able to lift.
  • Must be available for one week of full-time training.
