Senior Pastor
Position Overview
The Senior Pastor will provide primary preaching and teaching, lead strategic planning, oversee 20+ staff, and partner closely with the elder board on major organizational initiatives including debt reduction and facility optimization. The ideal candidate values collaborative leadership and thrives in a team-oriented governance environment.
Leadership Structure
The Senior Pastor serves in collaborative partnership with a plurality of elders who provide governance oversight and spiritual guidance. This team-based leadership model emphasizes mutual accountability, shared decision-making, and unified vision casting.
Required Qualifications
- Seminary education or equivalent ministry preparation
- Minimum 7-10 years senior pastoral experience
- Strong expository preaching and teaching abilities
- Demonstrated leadership in staff management and organizational development
- Experience with financial stewardship and capital campaigns preferred
- Christian & Missionary Alliance ordination required (or willingness to obtain)
- Theological alignment with evangelical and C&MA beliefs
Location
Located in Medford, New Jersey (45 minutes from Philadelphia, 60 minutes from Jersey shore), FAC serves professionals and families across southern New Jersey's townships with excellent schools and diverse neighborhoods. FAC is a single-site, multigenerational congregation committed to helping more people live Jesus-centered and missionally engaged lives.
Financial Context
FAC maintains strong financial position with recent land acquisitions requiring strategic debt management. The Senior Pastor will collaborate with the Finance Committee and Board of Elders on stewardship initiatives.
Compensation
Comprehensive package including salary ($100,000-$150,000), benefits, retirement contributions, and parsonage housing option.
