Senior Pastor

The pastor shall serve as the chief under-shepherd and overseer of this local church, spiritually feeding, leading and nurturing the sheep. This person’s main responsibilities will be to communicate God’s Word, minister to spiritual needs, and provide biblical leadership for the church. Minimum Training And Experience Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry and/or pastoring experiences which would qualify you to be a pastor/administer of a Baptist church. Special Requirements Converted and called to the pastoral ministry.Licensed and ordained as a minister of the Gospel, authorized to preach, administer the ordinances of baptism and communion and perform all ministerial functions.Spiritual and personal integrity and maturity.Ability and willingness to share Christ and disciple others.Positive human relations skills.Obvious motivational skills.Ability to communicate well through a pulpit ministry.Proven love for the fellowship of a local church.Ability to empathize with the deep concerns of the congregation. Duties – Responsibilities Proclaim the Word of God in a regular pulpit ministryOversee pastoral staff. Provide directions for the church programs.Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine-tune the church structure based on Eph 4. Equip the congregation so they can effectively do the work of the ministry.Motivate, equip, and nurture the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s Word and spiritual counseling.Spend considerable time in prayer and Bible study.Facilitate the contact/visitation of hospitalized, homebound, the grieving and counseling of church members as needed.Officiate at weddings and funerals.Oversee church discipline and manage conflict in the church. Seek to reconcile relationships and promote unity within the church.Participate and/or lead in evangelism efforts of the church. Through preaching, giving invitations, visitation and enlisting disciples to be trained in evangelism for outreach efforts in the local community.To manage his money with integrity so as not to bring reproach upon the church.Work with various standing and special committees in accomplishing their respective duties.Lead in observance of the ordinances of the church, the Lord's Supper and Baptism.Cooperate with local, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational developments; represent the church in denominational and civic mattersThe Pastor is allowed two (2) weeks of vacation, (2) weeks sick leave per year with the church paying for the pulpit supply.
