Senior Paralegal (NJUS)
About the role
The Senior Paralegal works independently on complex tasks and is responsible for analyzing information, performing legal research, and preparing legal documents and reports for the business. The Senior Paralegal manages special projects and provides legal assistance to the Legal Department and business partners as required.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Legal Department by conducting general legal research regarding various legal issues which may include but not be limited to tax, FAA regulations, aircraft transactions, litigation matters, and many other legal issues.
- Captures and organizes information from various sources in preparing documents, and engages in duties that may include responding to subpoenas, managing litigation and discovery, managing IP, handling corporate secretary duties, managing PAC information and assisting with government affairs issues as needed.
- Acts as point of contact for external and internal requests for information.
- Assists with advanced tasks and prepares for legal meetings.
- Manages resources for special projects and may train junior paralegals and oversee their work.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in law or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a legal setting, preferably in aviation or finance.

- Excellent communication and grammar skills, both oral and written.
- Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and a solid understanding of the practices, rules, regulations and procedures of at least 2 legal practice areas.
- Possess effective time management skills with proven ability to maintain a high level of organization while balancing shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Self-motivated and able to effectively monitor work projects to ensure deadlines are met in all cases and projects.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while working with diverse personalities and varying levels of employees and management as well as external customers and Owners.
- Demonstrated experience working in a strong customer focus environment with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Expert PC skills including MS Office Suite (Word, EXCEL) and Outlook.
