The Senior Paralegal, Employment & Litigation role is offered by a partner company managing all applications and next steps. This position supports a dynamic legal team in a remote-first environment, focusing on complex employment and litigation matters.
About the role
You will play a key role in organizing legal operations, coordinating case activities, and enhancing decision-making through strong research and documentation practices. You will work closely with attorneys, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders to manage sensitive legal matters and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage case-specific paralegal activities, including maintaining litigation calendars, coordinating discovery processes, collecting and organizing documents, scheduling interviews, and supporting interactions with external legal partners.
- Conduct legal research related to employment laws, regulations, and case law, providing clear summaries and insights to support legal strategy and decision-making.
- Support discovery and e-discovery activities by managing data collection, document review workflows, and technology-enabled legal processes.
- Implement and maintain legal technology solutions, including AI tools, to improve research, document analysis, case management, and overall service delivery.
- Aid with outside counsel and vendor management, including tracking budgets, reviewing billing information, and supporting legal operations processes.
- Assist with insurance and financial reporting activities related to active legal matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational practices within the legal function.
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of paralegal experience, including substantial experience supporting employment law and litigation matters.
- Strong understanding of employment law fundamentals, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and related state employment regulations.
- Proven experience with discovery, e-discovery technologies, document management, and litigation support processes.
- Experience managing legal operations activities, including coordination with outside counsel, vendors, budgets, and billing processes.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to summarize complex information clearly.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and accuracy.
- Experience using AI tools in a legal or professional environment, such as AI-powered research, drafting, summarization, or workflow solutions, is preferred.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs, create effective prompts, and determine when additional review or verification is required.
- Interest in legal technology, process improvement, and project management methodologies is highly valued.
